First off you are not stupid. Second that's what we are here for is to answer questions.
It could be bh and it could also be the very first stage of labor. You don't need to rush to l&d or anything the first stage of labor can last a few days or a few weeks for some. It's just your body effacing, bringing down your baby,'turning your baby into the optimal delivery position ect. If your contractions get to 4 minutes apart and last a minute that's when you want to call the hospital and see if they want you to come in.
Probably a combo of gas and braxton hicks. Real deal contractions hurt and they get worse with time. We are at the point where we are gonna have a lot of braxton hicks from here on out. And DTD made them come on. Also babies position can cause BH to be more frequent. Which again since they are running out of room babies position will cause again more BH. Don't worry so much...you will know real contractions cause they hurt like heck and get worse.
W are here for you!! Ask away
Keep an eye on the tightening of your stomach bc those can be contractions too...not like your gonna have The Baby any minute contractions or anything. With dd my contractions were painless 3-4 minutes apart for a few hours until they broke my water then they were strong. It sounds to me like you may be in early labor. Nothing to freak out about. Drink some water relax lay on your side. If they get closer together and are lasting longer then I would call your dr to see what they want you to do. kUP!!
I agree, most likely BHs, the first time I ever had BHs with Connor was right after sex after I was full term. Now I'm just hoping that sex will get things started this time around! Usually with BHs if you drink some water and walk around, they will start to lessen or go away completely. If they stay irregular, you have nothing to worry about as far as it being 'real labor' or real cx!
