I keep joking with my husband that he is getting a daughter for father's day and that is that! But really, he has been so fantastic during this whole (unplanned) pregnancy and such a partner the whole way through, I really want to do something special for him.
I picked a great man to be the father of my children and I really want him to know that. I want to do something super special but I can't think of anything.
Are you ladies doing anything special for "Daddy" this year? I need ideas!
That is so great! We did a special "Father's Day" in April since I knew there was a good chance we would not be able to do anything on Father's Day. DH is a huge Atlanta Braves fan, but since we live in MD, he doesn't get to see them very often. So when they were in town, I got tickets for us to go to a game as a family. That was going to be his present and I was going to try to have something nice here for him to have for dinner. Then today, I was shopping with my mom and saw an amazing deal on something he's wanted since we got married- a hammock. Don't know what it is about the man and a hammock, but he has wanted one really badly for a long time. With the new house, we finally have a backyard to put one in. So I got it for him.
I don't know if either of those things is something that your DH would be into. I am pretty good at coming up with special gifts when I know people. If you post a little bit about your DH, what he likes, and things he does, I will be happy to try to help you think of something! GL!
I am just letting DD do some crafts for DH since we don't have the money to get him anything obviously as he's still job hunting. I'm going to have her do her hands and footprints on a canvas board and I will print a poem I found. And DD will be painting a rock she found and I will print out Dad Rocks onto it. Simple stupid stuff really but I know my DH and he treasures the little things the most.
DH picked out his gift this year. He got a pair of shorts and a bow tie that he can wear to work. That works for me. I'll be nearly 39 weeks on Father's Day so I'm not really up to doing anything crafty or creative that I usually do.
