So last night around 9pm I started getting really bad gas pain (could feel it gurgling in my stomach) but it was difficult to pass but was able to go to the bathroom a couple times. I also felt very nauseous. After a couple hours I started feeling contractions. They were irregular so it was hard to time them. I took two baths and just kept trying to sit on the toilet, either trying to go, pass gas, or throw up. But nothing was really happening, just the pain was getting worse. This all lasted til about 4am. From 2-4 was probably the most painful and I kept contimplating calling my dr but I kind of knew it was mostly severe gas pain and braxton hicks/false labor. But my gosh was it painful!!! I was induced with my son since my water had broken and wasnt having contractions yet and i only had back labor with him. so feeling abdominal contractions (more than just your every day braxton hicks) was a new experience for me. I will be 37 weeks on tuesday so i'm hoping she stays put until then but after last night I really want to be done being pregnant.

Do you think I'll go into real labor soon? I haven't lost my plug or anything yet. Anyone experience anything like this? My next doc appt is thursday but i might call tomrrow morning to see if they can get me in sooner.

I don't know. I had the exact same thing as you with DD. Water broke. No contractions..24 hours of pitocin induced back labor. I vaguely remember what the few normal contractions I had even felt like
But I'm in the same boat as you with the watching and impatiently waiting.

I am not much help. The only contractions I felt with my boys was pitocin induced and even then I didn't feel anything until I was very much in labor and it was pretty much one big contraction.
The waiting is hard but it does sound like your body is getting ready at least. Sorry I am not more help. Just know you are not alone in this waiting game.

I also only had drug induced contractions with DD since my water broke first. But I can tell you that this time around, I have had some killer painful false labor (most notably Thursday evening when it lasted about 7 hours) and I am still very much pregnant with no clear end in sight. And I have lost my mucous plug and had 2 rounds of bloody show in the last week. I don't know if this baby is ever coming out... So I don't know that any of that necessarily means you will go into labor soon. Obviously, you could. Even with no symptoms ahead of time, some women just find that it's go time. But it sounds to me like your contractions were brought on by bowel issues. That can happen. It's actually how some people trigger labor with castor oil. The contractions of the bowel muscles brought on by the oil cause sympathy contractions in the uterus. I sure hope that doesn't happen again tho. It sounds wretched!

That is how both of my labors started. I thought it was bad gas, then diarrhea, and then when the contractions increased in strength I knew it was actual labor. But I remember having a few false alarms like that in the week before actual labor.

Hi. (Lurking from Aug ddc). What happened to you sounds almost exactly what happened to me last weekend. Mine lasted a lot longer and I had very very watery stools for three days, a day break then two more days. I had very bad stomach cramps and contractions to go along with it. It was so confusing I didn't know if I was in labor or not!!! I'm not sure if the contractions changed anything, but when I see my dr. this week I'm going to mention it to her to maybe check.

I thought maybe I had picked up a stomach bug, the only other one (who only threw up about 3 times and then was fine) is one of my daughters. No one else was sick.

ugh yes it is painful and it happened again last night from 12a-5a. I'm gonna give my doctor a call this morning to see if I should come in or not. Obviously the contractions go away after awhile but I was averaging 3-4 per hour, just irregular, some lasting 30 seconds some almost 2 minutes. i hate false labor!

UPDATE: Just called my doctor, talked to a nurse, and she wasn't concerned at all...just braxton hicks. yay lol. She said it's normal at this stage of pregnancy and i should be fine til my appt on thurs. she said basically to just wait them out and to find a position that is comfortable. i guess i kind of figured that's what they'd say but was hoping to hear 'go to labor and delivery' lol. oh the joys of the end of pregnancy....
