So, went in for my appointment. Ob couldn't find his heartbeat due to the way he was laying so she went and got the ultrasound machine. His hb was around 115 bpm... she said that was fine, even though its low and that their heartbeat slows down towards the end of pregnancy. It still has me anxious though...
Anyone else deal with this?

also... no progress, no nothing. I'm not going to do anymore cervical checks, they're just discouraging.

Very odd. I'm not a doctor though. Lilah's heartbeat has been solid around 145 for every appointment so far.

Lena's is down in the 130s now when it had been in the 140s-150s. Don't know if that helps. And don't worry about the lack of progress at cervical checks. I know several people who were totally closed up and not effaced at one appointment and had their babies 1-2 days later. Their bodies just got the job done super fast. But I do get what you mean. I keep hoping I will go in and they will tell me I'm 6cm dilated and then have a 2 hour labor. No such luck...

A heart beat between 110 and 160 is considered OK. In addition, if he was content (not active) at the time his hb would be lower. If you are worried, you could inquire with your doctor about a non stress test next time. They will monitor to ensure he has some accelerations.

Not odd at all. They tend to slow their heart beat down, in preparation for birth.
