So yesterday morning I woke up with a sensory aura migraine (I wouldn't have even known what this was except I remembered someone else posting about it months ago) and it is causing numbness to parts of my face. My lips and right eye mainly. Thought if I got a good nights rest it would go away. Well it didn't. So first thing this morning I texted my cousin who is a nurse at the same hospital I go to and asked her what she thought I should do and she told me to ask to speak to my DRs nurse and I did. And she got me an appt for tommorow morning with my Dr. When I've been fighting with the receptionists for almost three weeks to get an appt!! So yay about that!! Anyway...has anyone else experienced anything similar?

No, I had an aura migraine months ago though but it only lasted about an hour. It is a sign of preeclampsia but wasn't related to that in my case.

This has progressed to definite Bells palsy. I have definite facial paralysis on the right side of my face. I had this once before when I was 20 I should have recognized it right away but I didn't. I went to eat lunch and could not even control the right side of my mouth. Ugh not awesome. Gonna be going to see the on call OB here in a bit.

I hope you're ok. It was I who posted about the painless migraine aura awhile back. Turns out it was mostly a late 2nd tri /early 3rd tri thing. I haven't experienced it since. I never had any numbing with it and I checked my BP the last time it happened and it was pretty low.

I hope you're ok. KUP'd

Yeah mine turned out to be Bells Palsy. I will discuss with my OB in the morning what we are going to do about it. The on call Dr didn't feel comfortable putting me on treatment without my Drs approval as the most common treatment for Bells palsy is steroids and antibiotics which neither are safe during pregnancy. I think I may discuss possible induction with my Dr tommorow because aside from the facial paralysis its causing me to have pretty nasty migraines and pain in my neck and ear on that side as well as eye pain from not being able to blink. And sometimes when Bells palsy occurs in the last few weeks of pregnancy its caused by swelling and goes away after delivery.

I am sorry, Karry. I have never dealt with Bells Palsy. Hope you deliver soon and it clears up.
