Mamas of little girls - my Mom just told me a good idea for use of her little girl clothing (those tiny clothes that they wear just a couple of times like nighties). Save them for your daughter to use as dress up on a baby doll when she is older. I forgot but my Mom mentioned that I loved using them as a kid on my dolls. They generally fit, they are cheaper as you already own them, and they are something special for your daughter. (Now I just need to look for a doll about the size of a 7n pound baby - but I have a few years to get that shopping completed. )

Yes, we do that here already. My daughter has been swiping some of her little sister's outfits for her baby dolls to wear.

I got DD two of those older cabbage patch preemies (I found a couple of the ones from the 80s still New in the Box on EBay) and she has hers dressed in a few of her newborn sized outfits as they are about the size of a newborn. She loves hers. Oh yea I had to get a bit nostalgic and get her a baby doll like I had haha

I was given a cabbage patch doll when I was a baby and my mom saved a bunch of my newborn clothes and blankets for me to play with. I still have the doll and the clothes and blankets...and when Fiona was born, I bought her a 25th anniversary cabbage patch doll (just like mine, but different hair colour - mine has red hair to match me, and Fiona's has blonde to match her). I saved a few of her newborn outfits and blankets, and now she plays with both dolls. Who knows, maybe she'll be able to find a cabbage patch doll for her future daughter and do the same thing.

What a great idea - I still have my Cabbage Patch dolls. I can give them to her in a few years.

My mom has my cabbage patch preemie for the grandkids to play with. I have a few of my other dolls as well as my doll clothes and clothes trunk for my girls to play with. I went through a few of my baby girl clothes and found some newborn onesies and pants that I gave to the girls. They are obsessed with dressing their babies right now. Also, if you end up with a few random newborn diapers that your baby outgrows before you use them, add them to the baby doll stuff.
