For the entire hour I was awake at 3 am nursing Henry last night, I thought in my sleep deprived state that it would be a good idea to attempt one of those cute photoshoots with the adorable sleeping naked newborn. How hard could it be? Set up a sheet for a back drop, put a fluffy blanket in a basket, and place sleepy newborn in said basket. I got it all set up, Henry had nursed himself asleep, so I stripped him. He is not a fan of baskets apparently. Or being naked. My girls are being rambunctious in the room, so I'm fussing at them. I made an attempt to nurse naked Henry back to sleep, and I was only successful at relaxing him enough to where he peed all over me. Great! My five year old keeps pointing out the obvious "Mommy he peed on you. Your shirt is wet." Second attempt at getting in the basket didn't work either since he hadn't burped yet. So I'm bouncing around the room trying to burp naked Henry still wearing my pee soaked shirt because darn it I was going to get that shot. Well he burped, and then pooped in my hand. Sigh. I give up. I have a lot of respect for newborn photographers. Clearly that is not a job in my future.
Haha, we tried that with Anna and it was a big fail, as well. We put her on a pillow to take the pic and she peed on it. We switched to a different pillow, and she immediately peed on that one, too. After throwing away 2 pillows, we gave up. I'm not trying with Lena. We'll see what the photographer wants to brave on Monday. At least the CDs we have this time around would make for cuter pics if we leave a diaper on. The bare disposables would just not be cute.
Hahahaaha. Yeah. You're more ambitious than I am. I wanted these pictures, of course, but I know I'd never get the shot. For Anna's one month pics yesterday we just propped her sitting up with some pillows and called it good. Lol.
You risk the pee and poop - but after already spending $300 on photos (the hospital did a photo shoot in our room,. Nice photos for $160 ) I found that some of my home shoots were the best. Just keep the camera within arms reach and be ready for pee and poo. They change so fast though. Here is one of my favorites that I took.
This is one from the hospital (which did not do nude due to the security bands on the legs to prevent someone from taking the babies - if it was removed, the doors in the hospital automatically locked and elevators shut down).
I did get a couple good ones but they show girlie parts so I should not post
