Omg ladies...when does the nipple-ripping-off pain stop from BFing?!!

With DS we gave BFing a try foe 2wks, it didnt work and I endes up pumping for 6wks but nevee had discomfort or pain from it.

Im actually surprised to be BFing Giana and just rolling with it. She just turned 2wks yesterday and I still get the latch on pain. Nipples aren't cracked or bleeding.

This does go away, right?!!

Ps: the lightening that shoots through my nipples and serves as my alarm that Im full and its feeding time is really fun too o_O

Yes, it stops. Your nipples will toughen up and you'll only experience mild discomfort from time to time. Unless she makes a habit of destroying your nipples. But as for the lightening, at almost 6 weeks PP, I am still experiencing that... Hugs mama

Does she have nipple and areola in her mouth?

Oh let down gotta love that. It does lessen and sometimes you may not even feel it. And yes it does get better as your nipples toughen up.

Thanks ladies...Im looking forward to the day that my nipples are steroid'd out enough that I dont cringe at the thought of latching my baby on!

^ And from what I can tell as much areola with nipple is in her mouth. I wait for her to make a big open mouth like her jaws are unlocking and then let her latch. She then has what a NICU nurse termed as fishy lips around my boob

Mine was HORRIBLE at first with two babies on and off nursing. They felt like they were on fire all the time. I hated it. After about 4ish days it felt much better and now I hardly notice unless someone starts playing with it. I never had painful let downs but I can feel them morning ones are more intense but they don't hurt.

Thats good then its probably very normal. Just make sure she continues to put all of it in her mouth. You are doing great!

I'm in week 3 and the latching pain has gotten a lot better. I had a really strong let down with Abri so that tingling sensation lasted several months. It sounds like she is latching fine.

That pain still comes and goes for me. Some times I have it and other times I don't. The let down pain is still here though and ouch!!
