I was looking up clogged ducts and mastitis online but was wondering if any of you ladies has any experience with this you don't mind sharing.

Today my left boob has felt slightly tender on the side, warm to the touch, knotty/lumpy, and swollen. On top of nursing, I pumped massaging my boob and after felt relief. But it was short lived. Not soon after it felt swollen, lumpy and slightly tender again. Then with Giana's last nursing session it was kinda painful for the first 1-2minutes. Wasnt latch pain, I felt a stinging with each sucking motion deep inside my tissue...and she was sucking harder than normal. It hurt so bad I had to unlatch her. A minute or so later it felt worked, like she wasn't having to suck so hard anymore.

Does this sound like either of these conditions?

Am I not nursing long enough? Currently for both sides combined, nursing time lasts 30-45min.

Thanks for any info/advice!

It could very well be a clogged duct. You would know if it was mastitis; in addition to a lump, you would have a fever and flu-like symptoms. The best advice I have for a clogged duct is warm compresses/hot shower, massaging around the lump, and when you nurse, if possible, position Giana so that her chin is pointed toward the lump. It's unlikely that its caused by not nursing long enough. More likely it's that she's not pulling the milk from that duct completely. Just make sure you resolve it quickly, as a clogged duct will likely turn to mastitis if left untreated and mastitis is awful. HTH
