Anyone know a way to contain the bm poop blow outs? I have Ellianna's Christening coming up and got her an absolutely beautiful heirloom gown. Today she pooped 7 times (yes I counted) including one complete blow out up the back and one that was so very close. I do change her often. It just depends how she is laying when she goes. I am not sure if there is some type of diaper cover, etc. I do use Pampers Swaddlers. I am concerned that going up in size will do no good since it will create gaps. Any advice?

We usually go up a size when we have consistent blow outs. Maybe a different brand will contain it better

We have the same problem. It seems every poop requires a full outfit change. We also use Pampers. I'm pretty sure she's ready for size 2 already.

We had the same problem with disposable diapers with Anna. We have had no blowouts at all using cloth with Lena. And she only poops once every couple of days so they are always HUGE. Maybe you could get a decent CD cover for over her diaper to wear with her Christening gown?

We were having this problem a lot and when we went up to size 1 instead of nb, it seems to contain it bc the diapers go higher up on his back.

We moved up a size, and that stopped all the blowouts. We've only had once since moving up a size, and that was after his vaccinations and he got diarrhea from the oral vaccine. We use Huggies, so idk if that makes a difference.

I would suggest maybe putting a onesie underneath the dress if at all possible with maybe an added cute ruffled diaper cover. That's what I did with DD during her baptism. And I also put a bib on her onthe way to the church in case of drool or spit up.

We will definitely dress at the church - pukes way too often to try anything else. A bib until last moment also. She is such a cuties - but yesterday 7 poops and countless pukes (and not just spitting - one hit me leg well below the back of the knee).

I was wondering about a cd as one lady suggested. We will definitely layer with a onsie - also they go right through the onsies. Ugghh - that yellow.

That's usually my cue to go up a size - I use Pampers swaddlers for all three kids.

On another note, Shout put on the clothes immediately after the blow out usually gets the stain out. Just fyi.

if trey was sitting or in any sitting position he would blow out his diaper out the sides because it had no where else to go so when he is grunting or making sounds out his bottom...we lay him down so it can all be contained in the diaper

I keep a bottle of Shout right next to her laundry basket. Haven't had a stain yet.

We use shout as well. With my first 2 kids, my MIL really wanted us to use her family Chritening own. I gave in even though I did not like it. Well she passed away several years ago. I really wanted my dd to have something really special for her Christening - something to keep. I got her a very long raw silk handmade gown - which of course is not washable. I am just imagining a huge poop as she is getting baptised (or perhaps right begore with a huge stain). We already use Size 1 pampers and I am thinking Size 2 will just be huge. Perhaps I will layer 2 onsies over the diaper

The CDs we use are Softbums. I am in love with them. The legs have elastic so they adjust to fit exactly, perhaps why we have not had any blowouts. But each cover is $22, so maybe a bit pricey for a one time use. But thought I would share. Depending on how much you spent on the gown (based on your description, it sounds like a lot), it may or may not be worth it to you. They do come in a solid white that wouldn't show.

After the Christening, post pics! I would love to see the gown since it sounds so gorgeous! Good luck with the poop situation!

The cheapest cloth diaper covers you can get are Dappi pull on covers, $6 for a 2-pack, free shipping. Double up for extra protection? This kind will not show through and have zero extra bulk under the gown, as well. That's for the nylon, I think the vinyl is even cheaper, but vinyl is so icky and plasticky They have them on Amazon and at Nicki's Diapers among other places.

Good luck!!

I LOVE Amazon. We hav Amazon Prime - and I take advantage of the free shipping (especially since Ellianna hates to shop).
