I officially returned August 1st, but my sister watched Aubrey that Thursday & Friday. So Monday was her 1st official day at the daycare. I cried but not hysterically like I thought I would. I called to check on her and she was doing just fine, snoozing away. Everyday she has done great there. Really has made my transition back to the work life after being home for 5 months so much easier.

Even better is that her sleep schedule has been great for a full week now. She goes down at 9:00-9:30pm and wakes up about 3-4am. I put her down at night cause I really love my reality TV shows and can catch up when the whole house is in bed and her and I get one on one time feeding and then I hold her upright for an hour (still bad reflux issues). I lay her down at 10:15pm and DH gets up with the 3:00am bottle. She goes back down and wakes up around 5-6am and I just put her in the bouncer while I do my hair and makeup and she is pretty happy. It has been fantastic and I really hope this is her routine.

So glad she is in a routine! I am sure that makes things easier for you, especially in the morning! I return to work next week and I know I will be in tears for sure. Any advice on how to deal with my emotions?

Awww, I hope it isn't too bad for you when you return. I cried at the daycare and in the car on the way to work. And I didn't let myself feel silly about it. It felt good to cry and get out the emotion because it had been building up in me the entire maternity leave. I was fortunate that I was so busy those first few days back that the day seemed to come and go in the blink of an eye and I was back at home with Aubrey. The other thing that has helped is that she did get into this great night sleeping routine so I am not exhausted and am very appreciative of the daycare in that she is having fun, being stimulated and is exhausted at night and ready to sleep!!
