Me and my husband just had the worst fight. I am beyond pissed at him. He was in a car accident a few weeks ago and has been dealing with back pain since then. The pain has turned him into a freaking irritable monster. I hate when we fight. He fights totally in your face and spits out tons of nasty crap and I can't say anything. I try to but he just won't stop. He says the most hurtful things that he doesn't mean. He doesn't care that the kids are around he just goes off. I simply shut down. I just want it to end when he does it. I try to just stop the argument but it doesn't work. I get quiet and hold everything in. Ugh I am so upset. I havent been the greatest as far as my moods lately anyway. I feel off most days like a dark cloud is over my head. I'm so sick of it . I'm not totally depressed but I am not myself at all. Sorry to ramble I just need an outlet. Crying buckets now

Oops totally thought I was posting in secret garden. Oh well. Who cares. I'm sure everyone has experienced this kinda stuff too.

My hubby can be very mean when we argue too, I usually just shut my mouth cuz I don't wanna argue in front of the kids. So I totally I understand where you're coming from. I really want us to go to counseling, is your hubby willing to do counseling as well? I'm not much help but just know I totally understand how you feel and I'm here for support

He can say sorry all day long, but his behavior needs to change! Being in pain is no excuse for being an ahole or fighting infront of your children.

Saying "I'm sorry" doesn't mean he isn't going to do it all again the next time he doesn't feel well.

You don't need lip service. You need change.

My parents fought infront of us as kids, because of that I refuse to do it now. If we have a problem, we hash it out in our room before we go to bed.

I'm mad for you. I hope things are better now.

I totally agree. He used to be soooooo bad and do this all the time but got much better. Then all of a sudden twice in one day just flippin going off....its the worst. He felt bad last nigjt for his behavior but you are so right. It should never happen again. Especially like that in front of the kids. Thats the worst part. It breaks my heart.

I've seen so many fights between my mom and dad, stepdad 1 and stepdad 2 that I never want to fight in front of Anna. It's not okay. It made me feel insecure and worried all the time. That's not fun for a kid. I hope he changes for your sake and your children's. *HUGS*

(((HUGS))) from me.

I experienced this with my first husband. He was a very volatile person and I did the exact same thing, shut down when it started becuase if I tried to say or do anything it only made it worse. I became so insecure and just didn't think there was a life or world outside of what I was living in. But there was and is and I am living it now with a wonderful man who would never, ever treat me that way, even in his darkest moment.

I just wanted to share that I understand the fights and that type of temparement and if you still absolutely love him then I hope you two find a way to get through it. Prayers for you

Hugs hun! Are you able to walk away when he starts this in front of your kids. If he follows, can you walk to a more private place.
I know about shutting down when getting into fights. My husband doesn't get upset a lot and he doesn't tell me a lot of the things I am doing wrong until it has built up and he blows up. He never yells but when he bottles things up and gives it to me all at once, I feel so little and embarassed. Thats when I shut down. He is better about not bottling emotions up. One thing we try not to do is argue infront of the kids and I am sorry you have to go through that.
