We are hugely into board games in our family. As a kid, we had all the traditional kids board games and I think I probably liked Life best.
Now, we play adult board games. Every Saturday we have family night, where me and DH get together with my dad and step-mum and my brother and his wife. We have an awesome dinner and then play board games until the wee hours of the morning. Settlers of Catan (and it's many expansions), Betrayal at House on the Hill, Munchkin Quest...and a whole bunch more. I probably have the most fun with Settlers of Catan because I'm really good at it. When we play with the whole family I probably win about 40% of the time, and 90% of the time against DH. He's way better than me at most of that kind of stuff - plays WoW and Skyrim and D&D, so he thinks he should be good at board games that require strategy too. He's so cocky about it, it's really satisfying to beat the pants off him! Haha
I liked candy land. We mostly played cards though. I have so many memories of being out to camp playing cards with my grandparents. UNO, skipbo, phase ten, 31, etc. we also loved to play dominoes. I have been teaching my dd these games.
We love board games. We play a lot of "party" games, but have slowed down a lot since we moved down here because our friends dropped from the dozens to just a couple. We love Apples to Apples, even though it's technically not a board game, and Risk, and any other mind stretching game. We always play Trivial Pursuit when we're in California with my family. At Christmas time we played the version my parents got when they were married over 30 years ago...naturally they kicked our butts.
