Eli sleeps great at night. I usually put him down at 9pm, he wakes around 5:30am to eat and sleeps again until 9. Usually by 10:30am he needs a nap but he only sleeps at most 30 mins. Same thing around noon. By about 3 or 4pm, he takes a longer nap. For example, today he went to sleep at 4:25pm and slept until 7pm. When he woke up, he was a total cranky mess. Acted so sleepy even after his 2.5hr nap. My husband never sees him happy and awake.

Advice?

That's pretty normal for their age. I've heard of some people doing a bath in the evening to calm baby. My DH used to take Lily on a drive around the neighborhood during her fussy time. With Abri, we walked her around outside to calm her. They will grow out of it soon. If you want to try to change his afternoon nap time, moving it gradually works best. Try putting him down a few minutes earlier each day.

My DD went thru a phase at this age where she was a fussy cranky mess at the same exact time each evening. She outgrew it within a few weeks. I would try what Courtney suggested

For Elli, we do evening outside. That helps. I hope she outgrows that by winter

I would try a warm lavender bath. That helped us a lot when Anna went through that. There are several brands of organic baby bath products that contain real lavender, which is a naturally calming scent. I know California Baby is one, but their products do tend to be pricey. This might help though, especially if he likes baths. Good luck!

DS had more of a "fussy hour" than Giana. It would start up at 6 and last until 8pm. He wasn't coliky, just this little witching hour (or 2hr rather) he had and it it began around 7wks lasting until he was 2.5months. It was just a matter of finding what was soothing or calming for him...end up he liked being held with his tummy down laying on my forearm with arms/legs dangling down. Sometimes it was ok to sit with him like that, other times he wanted to be bobbed or walked around.

Gia does have that fussy start but she wants to be soothed into a nap. She'll fight it a bit, but after we semi wrap her up & rock her...usually within 5min she falls asleep.

We do a lavender bath, she loves it. It is like hitting a switch.

Zack has been getting really fussy in the evenings and wont settle until I lay him in his bassinet. Like last night he ate around 7:30 and then would not stopping fussing until he was put down around 9:45. I though he would eat first but nope didnt get up again till 4:45am. I'll have to try a bath again. Last time it only settled him until he got out
