So my little guy STTN the last 2 nights YAY!!! But I am unsure if this is good or not.

Before he only woke once to eat. Well he was born small (4lbs 3 oz) and early. Well He is about 9 pounds now at 3 months old. For the first 8 weeks he was gaining about 1/2 a week on BM fortified to 24 calories. Then I switched to 22 calories formula and he only gained 10 OZ in 4 weeks. I am now making the formula 24 calories.

I wonder if I should let him sleep through the night or if I should wake him up once to eat.
He stirs sometimes and still has his eyes closed, I give him his pacifier and he is back to sleep in no time. I figure he is tired and if he is hungry he will stay awake or cry to eat.

We go back to the doctor on the 18th so I'll ask then.

What do you guys think?

I think it all depends on his weight. If he is gaining weight at a steady pace and following his curve then you're probably okay. But if he slows down too much or his curve dips then you're in trouble.

I honestly would give your doctor a call today or tomorrow and let them know what is going on. They may want you to do a weight check at the end of the week. That will give you a week's worth of time to see how the schedule affects him. He may end up switching to eating more often during the day and eating larger amounts. So, keep a record as well showing that.

Ellianna sttn generally. She will go from 9 or 10 p.m. until 7 without eating. She was born 7 lbs 2 ounces and is now a little over 13 pounds. Weight gain is rally supposed to slow down. Generally double weight by 4 months and only triple by 12 months.
