I totally forget - when can babies have a little water in a bottle. Ellianna has been fed exclusively bm (except for 3 ounces of formula during the first week of life). On some hot afternoons, I am thinking it would be nice to give her an ounce of water. Not sure how old the child is when you can do this.

I think they just recommend that you offer the breast or bottle more often. BM is 90% water, iirc.

When my son was 6monthsish I would use a straw and put drops of water on his tongue/lips to keep them moist because he liked to gawk a lot, lol.

I have read that breastfed babies do not need water for the first 6 months.

The exact same thing hilachu said. Didn't give did any water til about a year. She got what she needed from the formula. And since your able to nurse I would just stick with the breast milk. It has everything she needs so she doesnt need any water yet
