Morgan is in an infant carrier at the moment, but we've already started looking at convertible seats because she's getting really tall. Unfortunately unless we want to keep moving seats from car to car we'll need 3, so we're looking for a lower price option for at least one or 2 of them. She rarely rides in DH's car, so we'll probably get a lower end seat for his car. My car is really small, so finding a decent seat that is reasonably priced but not a behemoth is proving challenging.
Henry is still in the infant seat. We have Lily's old car seat (not expired) that we'll move him to at some point. It's an Evenflo Triumph that rear faces to 35 and forward faces to 50 lbs. I prefer it to Abri's Graco MyRide 65. The Evenflo is just easier to adjust the straps. We switched Abri at 7 months and Lily at 8 months.
My kids are all on the shrimpy side and every one of them has rode in the infant car seat until their 1st bday because they were still under the height and weight limits. In fact, I think we didn't switch Kiefer until 13months and he was STILL under the weight limit
I expect McKinley will be the same. Right now, Kiefer is still rear facing because his convertible car seat can sit RF up to 40lbs and he is only about 27lbs. I figure, by the time McKinley outgrows her infant carseat we can finally turn Kiefer around. We will probably get him a new seat and just pass his down to McKinley because his seat isn't expired.
Our infant seat goes to 32 inches and 30 lbs. We will keep him in it until at least a year. It makes life easier with daycare etc. and I don't see the point of moving him early to a convertible, especially since we have a lot of expenses between now and 1st quarter next year.
Still in the infant seat, I can't remember when we moved Connor out of it but probably around 6m sounds good! We already have another convertible seat that was in my parent's car, only used once when Connor was visiting them and we flew, so they gave me the seat for Peyton.
Still in the infant seat. But in a few months he will outgrow it by height. I think DD did around 7 months and he is even taller (has been "100th percentile" at last 2 check ups). We'll probably get another Graco myride since we have that for DD and it is easier to keep the same system since we are familiar with it.
