McKinley is BF but because she has pumped milk in a bottle during the day, I have a rough idea of how much she eats in 24 hours. She has 4-5oz every 3 hours during the day and then sleeps all night. So about 24-30oz in 24 hours.
We are waiting to start solids until 6 months. I will be honest, I have let her lick some very mild things of my finger before and she was not a fan...so even if I was ready, I know she isn't.
We will probably start with some homemade puréed squash or sweet potatoes first. Or maybe avocado. I can't decide!
Ellianna is 4 1/2 months old. While I am at work she takes about 18-20 ounces of breastmilk She then nurses an additional 3-4 times per day on average. On weekends she just nurses on demand and I have no idea. In addition, Grammy gives her 1-2 bowls of cereal a day (I generally just nurse).
Food - Grammy gives rice cereal and she seems to love it. I tend to just nurse and no complaints
I think that I will start some foods between 5 and 6 months. Probably start sweet potatoes first. I have the Baby Beaba to make my own food.
I am looking for someone to tell me that my daughter is not a chow hound Thinking about it - she probably drinks about 35 ounces of bm per day when you count bottles of breastmilk and nursing She is only 14 1/2 pounds though so not a real chubbers for a girl her length (6-9 month pants a necessity for length).
EBF here, so I really have no idea how much he eats, but he's definitely getting plenty (as evidenced by his 19lb weight at 4 months).
We won't introduce any solids until 6 months, but we will be doing BLW.
I haven't decided yet what his first food will be but he is definitely wanting it bad already.
Zack is still EBF on demand. He goes about every 3/4 hours and gets up once a night still. So I have no idea how much he is really getting.
I don't plan to start solids till after the new year which would make him 6 months. I may push it back even longer.
First food will be bananas and sweet potatoes.
We tried giving Morgan some thin rice cereal on a spoon on Halloween (she had just turned 5 months). I don't plan on feeding her solids regularly until she's 6 months old but I wanted to see how she'd do with it. She definitely needs some practice, so I'll probably give her a small amount every few days so she can start to figure the whole eating real food out.
Hailey is EBF and eats on demand..somedays its 1-2 hours others it's 2-3 hrs. at night she usually goes a 3-4 hr stretch but cluster feeds from 4am-6/7am. during the day she just eats for short periods, maybe 5-10 minutes at a time. during the night are her longer feeds at 10-20 minutes.
we will be starting solids at 6 months, so right around Christmas time. i plan to introduce apples or bananas first for fruits and probably sweet potatoes first for veggies
