I just read an article in Consumer Reports of problems with arsenic in rice - including rice cereal. Does anyone know if this includes the organic rice cereal. Ellianna loves to eat two bowls a day mixed with expressed milk. I use Earth's Best organic with no GMO. I could switch her to oatmeal. It is just that the rice is the easiest on the belly and she absolutely loves it (who knows why). She is still taking over 30 ounces of breastmilk so she gets enough nursing. I just hate the idea of her getting arsenic in her food.
To save money, we just took whole oatmeal grains and chopped them in a blender to make baby food. It really is easy. Now, what I *don't* know is how much arsenic is in adult oatmeal and cereals. From what I gather in the report, it's in everything. And I'm a little confused about that and what they mean by limits. I understand that they have a cap on how much can be present but that's only for one product. If someone consumes multiple products, each at their highest cap, day in and day out, surely they're consuming more than would be good for them?
