January is a busy time for people to start planning vacations for the year. Anyone planning one with their little one?

We had planned a Disney cruise four our family of 4 to happen in August of 2013, then we became a family of 5 in June Disney is great and let us reschedule for August 2014 and include Ellianna in our room. Since we will be flying to Florida for the cruise, we will go to Disney for a couple of days as well. Got the tickets and hotel planned. Going to Disney for 4 days, then the cruise and then back to Disney for 2 days. We have the meal plan the first 4 days - so I may try to arrange for me and Ellianna to have breakfast with the princesses one day. I know, she is way too young. It is probably more so for me to enjoy having a daughter to do the princess things. You know me, I will definitely have her dressed as a princess or Tinkerbell. On the other hand, a cruise with a 14 month old should be a challenge. Guess we will not be doing the 2 hour dinners I am certain we will still have fun and my boys really love the Disney cruise. (and since we had already paid for part of it before we had to postpone, the cost does not seem so bad. We paid some when we booked it in 2012, then some in 2013, so in a way it is spread over 3 years).

We are splurging with taxes this year and going to Disney world! I can't wait! Taxes would be the only way we would be able to afford that kind of vacation!

No big vacations this year, but we will do the occasional beach trip. We are about 3.5 hours from the beach. My sister has a beach house so we get to go down to visit. Plus we also inherited my grandfather's time share at another beach that we use. In theory we are planning a trip to Hawaii in 2015 for our 10 year anniversary, but I'm not sure we will be able to swing it.

We have plans to go back to Kalahari at some point. The kids loved it last year so we hope to go back every year. I would love to plan a trip with the kids back to see my mom and sister in MN so I may work on that too.

We aren't planning a trip with the kids for this year ( probably Disney next year ) but we are starting to put money away for a trip for our anniversary since we didn't go on a honeymoon. We haven't decided where we're going to go but we have a list of half a dozen places to choose from.

James K Polk is my favorite president!! I grew up near where he was born, went to the same university, and just generally love random facts about him. Are you going to the house in NC where he was born?

We're moving from Toronto to Ohio this summer, and DH will be off work for however long it takes to find a job...so, that's kind of a vacation, lol.

My parents might be renting a cottage up north for a week this summer, and if they do then we'll join them for that.
