Taxes are done a bit later here in Canada - DH just barely got his T4 (like a W2) this week, so we haven't done ours yet. We're expecting a decent return, but it'll go straight into our New Home Fund, for a down payment. We expect to be house hunting by this time next year so we're saving everything we can. I wish we could spend it on a vacation or something, but a few years of scrimping will totally pay off when we're able to pay 75% of the cost of our home in cash, and then only have a mortgage for a few years.
We did ours already. We are going on vacation to Orlando in March for spring break . Paid off some debts. Got new tires for one of our cars. Fixing some problem the other car had. Bought some new stuff for around the house. Did a bit of shopping and we are saving the rest. I love tax season, so glad some of the money that comes out of my husbands check comes back to us. Man do they tax the crap out of him.
We are using our refund to pay down debts and get some baby stuff. I wish we were doing something fun with it... but times have been tight this past year, we have racked up a lot of credit card debt. Hopefully next year we will be able to do something fun!
