Did anyone make LO something like a blanket or outfit etc?
My MIL and sister each make the kids a cross stitched blanket. The girls have both of theirs and Zack just got his from MIL yesterday. My sister is currently working on his from her now. I love that they did them and hope to make ones for my nieces and nephews when they come.
my mil had a lady at work make our kids a small knit blanket when they were born.
sorry this just made me think of this..my SIL wanted to know if our daughter's name was set in stone when i was like 35 weeks pregnant because she wanted to have a blanket made for her with her name on it. and at the time i told her the name we were thinking but were like 99% sure. we stuck with the name but changed the spelling. point is i felt a lot of pressure to keep the name the same because we had told her......hailey is 8 months old...still no blanket lol.
My MIL hand knitted each of the boys a Christmas Stocking which actually has Santa with a fuzzy white beard and says Merry Christmas. She did it for each of her 7 children and 20 grandchildren. She started as soon as she found out the Mom was expecting. Well she passed away 8 years ago. This August DH's father passed away. The family decided to give his stocking (made by MIL) to Ellianna so that she would have a stocking like all the grandchildren. MIL never knew Ellianna would be here and FIL really didn't understand things when she was born - however, she is included with all the others by having their stocking.
My mom cross-stitched a birth announcement for Arthur's wall. And their neighbor crocheted him two blankets. Eventually my mom will cross-stitch him a stocking for him to use while at their house for Christmas. I made him a quilt and am in the process of knitting him a blanket.
No one made anything for us, but I made Jocelyn's blessing dress. It was actually supposed to be my other daughter's but she was born at 25 weeks and it didn't get finished. I then had another one at 31wks and it didn't get finished. As sad as it is, the reason it got finished this time was because I thought we were going to bury her in it. I'm so glad she got to wear it and we have a keepsake for her.
My mom had a neighbor make brooke a blanket, and outfit (sweater, booties, and hat). Weston doesn't have any. Oh I almost forgot. My mil makes the kids their winter hats so they each have a couple of those.
