This month was my first month of clomid used it cd 3-7. I have a 31-32 day cylce. My question is when should I bd I've heard so many different things I think I've confused myself. I bought the preseed and also don't know when we should try using it, I have musinex also at home should I combine the two. Please if anyone could help with their experience thanks so much...

Hi! I conceived by bd'ing every single day, lol, but it's usually recommend to bd every other day as that gives you the optimal # of sperm. Sperm can live for 3-5 days (and sometimes longer) so it's best to bd before and up to ovulation. Once the egg is released it's only able to be fertilized for about 18 hours, so the more sperm you have waiting beforehand for the egg to pop out the better. I would use the preseed with every bd'ing session up until the day after you ovulate (in a "normal" cycle you ovulate on day 14 but it's different for everyone, especially with clomid, you might get some opk's if you haven't yet). It says to use a whole container of preseed at a time but we only used part of one and it worked just fine.
I'm not familiar with the mucinex, sorry, I didn't try that.

I didn't take clomid, sorry. But I know that there's a lot of ladies who have and they've conceived succesfully (many on these boards). Since Clomid encourages you to ovulate, I would start bd'ing when you start the clomid and bd every other day until the day after you ovulate to give you the best chances to conceive. You can buy ovulation predictor kits and it also might be a good idea to start charting (if you aren't already) which will give you a better idea of when you are ovulating. Good luck!

I'm a lurker here, and I haven't conceived yet, so I hope it's okay that I'm putting my 2 cents in.

I agree with babyhope78, get some OPK's. I started using the OPK's on CD 10. Don't be discouraged if you don't get a positive OPK on CD 14. I didn't get a positive until CD 19. Charting would help a lot too.

This was my first month of Clomid CD 3-7, just like you. My doctor recommended that we start BDing on CD 10, and continue every other day. We started on CD 10, and continued every other day until a couple of days after I got my positive OPK.

As far as the Preeseed goes, we used it every time that we had sex. Be sure to put it in 10-15 minutes ahead of time so that it disperses properly.

I have never used the Mucinex, so I can't help you there.

Good luck!!

I am not a grad yet, but I have hopes for this cycle. The Mucinex, Robitussin & Evening Primrose Oil all help to produce more CM, as it can be lessened when taking Clomid. I use a Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor because it's more accurate than the POAS OPK's you can get at the grocery store. It's expensive, but has been very helpful in that there's no guess work when using it. The Clomid makes me read at a 'high' level of fertility almost immediately after AF leaves, but I do get a specific 'peak' reading when I am actually O'ing. I hope this helps.

Yay for the preseed helping!
I'm going to copy part of my answer to another post that I just responded to since it seems to answer your question (hopefully, lol). Please let me know if you have any other questions too or if I didn't explain something well (I have that tendency sometimes, lol)

I've heard the worst position for getting pregnant is if the woman is on top (although it is still possible this seems to make the sperm more likely to fall out then reach their destination).
Otherwise most other positions work well. Some people feel that positions that give deeper penetration can help.

After you bd it helps to put a (small) pillow under your hips and remain there for about 20 minutes (when you stand up right away most of the sperm will fall out with the fluid. If you wait 20 minutes you will still get liquid falling out when you stand but it won't contain as much sperm) This position helps the sperm pool at the opening to the cervix helping the sperm along. (if you use a big pillow it makes the sperm pool BEHIND your cervix). I had a tipped uterus so it works best for me to do the doggy style and then lay on my stomach for 20 minutes with a pillow under my hips as this gets the correct angle for my cervix).

And of course, bd'ing every other day seems to be the optimal amount.

I'm crossing my fingers for you this cycle help2c, please keep us updated because I'm dying to know how this cycle is going for you!

I don't think you ovulated yet. What is sounds like to me is that your body is gearing up to or trying to ovulate but hasn't quite done it yet, it could be that this dose of Clomid will do it or it could be that it's not quite enough yet. I would definitely recommend doing the OPK's to see where your body is at. And sometimes it's easier to just bd every other day because you have all your bases covered, even if you're not sure when you ovulated. I'm sorry that things are so confusing - please give yourself and your dh

And please keep me posted!!

I used Clomid for 5 cycles. I too have a 32 day cycles, sometimes 33. I used OPK's around CD 18 to try and pin point my ovulation, unfortunately it can be effected by the clomid...so i wasnt good at figuring them out b/c they would look really close to positive. ANYWAYS...I almost always ovulated around CD19-20...my RE said that most woman ovulate late with clomid...I luckily had O pains every month and had a clue around when. So you might wanna try some OPK's...but wait till later in your cycle cause the clomid will cause it to be positive if you start too early (like CD10). ALSO! are you taking your temperature?? that helped me out ALOT cause it confirmed that the pains I was feeling, really was ovulation. Fertilityfriend.com can help you if you would like to try. Good luck!
