I am new to this site so I do not know all of the lingo yet. I feel I just need to vent to other women who may be experiencing the same things I am right now. A little background info I am 31 and my husband is 28. I was on birth control for about 6 years on and off. I stopped birth control the last day of my honeymoon Jan 12, 2009. I figured since I tried so hard for so many years not to get pregnant that now that I was married it would be a breeze, well it is not.
We have been trying since that time with no luck. It has really become depressing to me and I know (even though he does not say it) my husband is too. After I went off birth control my cycles were normal 28 days and we followed the ovulation calendar; however in June my cycle came 5 days early and now this month 7 days early. I am totally confused as to when I can conceive since my cycle has been so crazy. My husband wants me to go to my GYN but I am just terrified that something will be wrong with me. Wow writing this out actually makes me feel better, I have kept these feelings bottled up for the past few months...I appreciate you listening and any advice...thanks dee...
If you aren't already, I recommend taking your basal body temp (BBT) every morning and charting it on a site like fertilityfriend.com. It is awesome! While you don't see the temperatures change until you ovulate (O), you will see it go up indicating ovulation has occurred. You will also be able to determine how long your luteal phase (lp) is after a couple months of charting and will be able to better predict when your period (AF) is due. Everyone doesn't have the same amount of days every cycle, so I wouldn't really worry about a couple days difference here and there, try charting for a couple months and see what happens! Good luck!
hey deejo! just wanted to say 'hi' and that i understand what you are going through - i'm right there with you. we are on cycle 6 *officially* but i've been off birth control for a ridiculously long time. i'm glad you are going to chart like charityvanessa suggested - you'll learn so much about your cycle and what to look out for and it will help you time bd'ing to maximize your chances!
Hi everyone... I am new to this site and message boards as well. We have been ttc for 6 mo. I have been taking my bbt and I thought for sure I was preggor this month. I was 5 days late until I woke up this am to find my bbt dropped. I have been spotting today. Plus I took a preggor test 3 days ago and it was neg. I thought maybe since my luteal phase was short (10 days) that maybe there was not enough HCg levels . But with the temp dropping... well I guess I am not preggors! I know how you feel and it is frustrating. I joined this site for support too...
