Hello fellow boy mommies! Not sure if I have ever posted in here before so here's a brief intro: I'm Crissy, mom to 2 boys (and 3 girls). My boys are Jack age 8, and Angus, age 5½. Angus has autism and Jack has ADHD. Other than that, they are typical boys, into video games and Legos and all things gross

I am doing my Christmas shopping online. Jack likes to read (yay!) but he has lots of fiction (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Captain Underpants, Harry Potter - the usual suspects) so I wanted to get him interested in some non-fiction reading. He is drawn to scientific stuff, so I thought about one of these:

Grossology
or
Oh Yuck! Encylopedia of All Things Nasty

Does anyone have either, and if so, what do you think, does your boy like it? And how old are they? The age says 9-12 but Jack reads well, he reads HP, would these be too hard? If you have something else to recommend, I welcome suggestions Thanks!

Milo LOVES the Oh Yuck book. He also loves the Encyclopedia of Immaturity. Milo is 11 now, but he got those books when he was about 9. I highly recommend them. He also loved Captain Underpants and Diary of a Wimpy Kid back in the day. There are also good fiction books out there like the Tale of Despereaux, The Hatchet, Frindle, to name a few.

BTW, I have an Angus too! Never met another Angus before. We call ours Gus.

Thanks! Our Angus is nicknamed Gus as well! I do know another Angus, but not a little kid, a friend I grew up with, and sadly he passed away when our Gus was a baby, so my guy has been the one and only since then. Funny, you have a Milo too - that name was on our short list when we were narrowing things down before our Gus was born! Great name choices!
