For Christmas? The boys are already bugging us to start! We usually wait until the first weekend in December to put our lights up, but DH already told Kolby that they'll start this weekend.

I'm horrible and I hate decorating for anything. I love Christmas, just not the hassle of it. My MIL lives with us now and loves to do it, so I'm all for letting her! Jaiken's bday is Dec 1 so we never decorate until after that because I want his birthday completely separate from Christmas.

My birthday is Dec 6 and that's why we always wait! My DH is a stickler for keeping celebrations separate. lol
I'm glad your mil can decorate for you. I wish I had someone to do it for me. lol I love it once it's up..but it is a hassle to put it up..then take it allllll back down again.

My older ds always wanted to put them up after Thanksgiving dinner, so I just kept on doing it then even when we let xdh have Thanksgiving and stopped doing anything for it EXCEPT putting up Christmas decorations, lol.

They have to come down right after New Years because of older ds's birthday. I left them up until April before then, but I wanted to make his birthday special and didn't really suceed any more than anyone else who has kiddos in December or January.

I told MIL to go for it this year and she's excited. haha. My DD's bday is the end of January, so the decorations come down before then. That Nov - Jan time frame for us is crazy!

Three out of four of my kids were born in January. That was NOT on purpose! I don't hate myself that much, lol.

On the bright side, I think I enjoy Christmas a lot more than people who don't have holiday babies and can empathize better with Mary*.

i'm on the same page as brandis in that Kale's birthday isn't until 12/8 so we don't even TALK about Christmas until after his birthday. so actually as of right now (12/11) we still don't have any Christmas stuff up. but this weekend we'll get to it

We FINALLY put the tree up yesterday! MIL came in with a ton of stuff that's Christmas-y. I said, cool, go for it! hehe. The kids loved it all.
