...that soaps and detergents can cause a false positive hpt?? i even googled it!!! i start to panic because all my tests have been strips and sticks in a cup as i am a failure at holding it the right way and end up wetting the test window....do you girls think its true? the neverending anxiety..
sorry, i forgot to add that i remember i had 2 strips yesterday using the paper cup provided with the tests phew!!

there are so much strange info on the net, hard to say which is true and which isnt..

I don't know. Doesn't seem so. Unless soap contains HCG. Use a plastic throw away cup. Or take out a glass, and rinse it out with water and wipe it with a paper towel. Hmm

I have never heard that. I think google is the pregnant woman's / ttc'ers worst friend. I know I need to stop reading everything. I'm sure you have a baby and it's not the detergent or soap

Yeah, I don't really think that is an issue. If you are worried though, take another test and pee in a disposable cup then dip the test.

Definitely think that's one of those false things that spread. I've never heard it and frankly, don't believe it.

I've never heard that. Like someone else said, there'd have to be HGC in the soap though...

The one rule I live by with anything pregnancy, kid, or health related is DO NOT GOOGLE. It's the golden rule. There's too much crap out there that could get you second guessing that it's not worth even looking.

Sounds pretty dodgy to me, soap doesn't contain any hormones.

Recently it was discovered that a certain type of soap caused a false positive drug test on newborns in the hospital, so there could be somthing to it.
