Hi, my name is Amy, DH is Cole and I have a 15 month old DD named Jennifer. This was a HUGE surprise and I found out about a week ago. I'm still warming up to the idea and I'm terrified in having the kiddos so close in age. I hope you BTDT mommies have lots of advice. I think I will be due around July 19 but haven't had that confirmed yet. Can't wait to meet you all!
Welcome and congrats! I'm Colleen and I have 2 kiddos so this will be our 3rd! My first 2 are 21 months apart (3 year old and 17 month old) and I am due around July 18th which will make this baby and my DS2 25 months apart! I won't lie, it was a challenge at first when DS2 was born but it does get easier!! Make sure you let your DD help out whenever she can, this helped a lot with my DS1.
Colleen proud mommy to DS (8/2009), DS (6/2011), and DD (7/2013)
I have 2 other children. Got pregnant after my DD when she was 6 months old. (on bcps!) So they are very close in age. They fight and bicker like any normal siblings but they love eachother very much. This baby will be 5 1/2 years younger than DD and 4 years younger than DS.
Hi Amy, I'm Hilary and were expecting out third. I have 22 month old a 5 month old and now pregnant again. So I'm with you worrying about the kids being so close in age. It worked with out first two so I'm sure things will work out here too.
mine are 24 months apart, (born in December too.. isn't that great timing! OOPS!) Anyway I say it was hard, but I had an unwanted c-section, tried to do too much (healed fast but wore myself out all the time) and had PTSD from the section, if I had been a little smarter and maybe wasn't dealing with the PTSD I think we would have done a lot better. Grace for both yourself and your DD are the best cures for anything that happens, plus letting DD help is a GREAT thing! I let DS carry diapers and throw them away, get clean diapers, and put laundry in the baskets, he also tried pushing the baby swing (usually by pushing her face), but she survived and they love each other!
