My previous doctor told me 25-35 lb, while my current doctor advises 20-30 lb. I am not overweight, and I haven't even met my doctor yet to ask her about it (the info came from a phone call with the nurse). I guess I'll see what she has to say, but at the same time I wouldn't stress if I hit 35. What have you been told about weight gain, and what are your personal targets (if any)?

My last dr didn't give me a "target" weight gain and I haven't met with a dr this time around yet. With my daughter I gained about 20 lbs, and I was never told it was too much or too little. I'd like to not gain more than that this time too. I am overweight (almost obese BMI) to start with - 5'2" 155-160lbs - so I should gain on the lower end of the spectrum anyways.

my doctor hasn't said anything and didn't with DS. i am small (size 4), and i lose a TON of weight while BFing, so i'm not concerned about my weight gain with pregnancy. last time i gained 28 lbs (7 of which was fluid that i gained the last few days before my induction), so i expect to be in the 20-30 lb range again. although right now i can't imagine gaining weight b/c i can eat barely anything!

I havent met with my doctor yet and this is my first pregnancy. I am overweight so I dont want to gain too much. I was thinking 15-20lbs. But I'm not sure what a good weight is when you are overweight.

15-20lbs. I am 15lbs heavier then when I got pregnant with Megan and 15-20 would put me where I was at the end with Megan.

I don't want to gain very much either, I'm taller and carry my weight differently. When I tell most people what I weigh they don't believe me. I'm 5'8 and weigh about 175-180. I'd like to not go over the 200 mark but I am not going to worry too much about it if I do go over a few pounds because I plan on breastfeeding. Hoping really hard though that it stays within that 20-25 range.

I'm tall 5'7 and weigh around 116lbs..when I had Chace I gained around 25-30lbs so I hope I can keep in that range again. I dropped all of my baby weight within two weeks of having Chace ...hopefully this time around will be as easy. I do plan on eating healthier than I did before..yogrut,nuts, fruits, salads, only grilled chicken .... All I craved with Chace was hot dogs and Italian ice

I guess about 20 lbs? I don't really know what to expect. I'm trying to eat about the same. I'm def not using my pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever I want. Haha. (we'll see how that goes)

No idea and what happens happens.

I don't even own scales at home so it's not like I could keep track anyway.

I haven't been given a target. With DD I gained 30lbs. I started 15lbs lighter with her though. I would like to keep this gain to a minimum of 20lbs as I am already 45lbs overweight

I gained 33lbs with T and then lost 50 within 9 months so I know I can lose it. But at 33lbs heavier I felt really gross. I wanted my next pregnancy to be different. That being said I am hungry all day long every day. All I want to do is eat and sleep. So not good and I'm already packing on the lbs. Hoping to be able to rein it in a bit after the first trimester. I know thats when I gained a lot last time. My goal is 25lbs. My starting weight is 153 so I'd like to stay under 180.

I am exactly the same way! I have a fear of hitting that 200 mark!!!

I'm 106 lbs now.

With my first kid, I gained about 37 pounds. Breastfed, but never really lost ALL the baby weight. Was probably about 115 when I got pregnant with second kid.

With second kid, I gained about 35 pounds. But that time, the weight just whooshed off. I got down to my "wedding weight" without a problem.

It was weird, because I thought it would be harder to get the weight off with the second kid, but that wasn't the case for me. So I have no idea what will happen this time around. Ideally, I'd like to keep the gain to a minimum... like maybe 25 pounds. But I know me. I get fat all over when I get preggers, and I retain fluid like a camel. My feet look like hoagies by the time I reach my third trimester.

Whatever I gain I gain. I gained a whole lot with Peyton (way more than any of you have mentioned) so I'm just going to try and not go crazy with me eating this time.

From what I've read, no more than 15 pounds. Technically that means I'd have to lose weight because between the baby, fluids, placenta, milk ducts, etc I think it would add up to more than 15. But I had issues from gaining too much weight last pregnancy & I don't want to go there again.
I count calories faithfully and as long as I am not gaining too much weight elsewhere & it stays in my belly then I will be satisfied.

I'm still going to loosely follow WW as long as I can. That being said I should probably gain 0lbs... but that's not going to happen. So whatever the minimum is, 10lbs?

I haven't set any targets. I'm just hoping to not gain nearly as much as I did with either of my boys.
