Ok. So some of you may remember the work situation a few weeks ago when my boss told me I shouldn't have announced until 13 weeks because its be embarrassing if I had a miscarriage. RUDE. Anyways, I sell on eBay so I ship a lot if packages. I go to the post office probably 3-4 times a week. I went to drop off packages today, it's a local post office, the post man is a father of a guy I graduated with from high school.

Anyways, we were small talking about a mutual acquaintance today, and somehow it came up about me being pregnant. He says "oh you're pregnant? I didn't know....I just thought you've been eating lots of pizza" I just kind of laughed it off but it really really hurt my feelings. I gained 15 lbs when ttc and 5 in the 11.5 weeks of being pregnant. So I know I do probably look different but I am taller and truly don't think I look bad. And I felt really put together and cute today wearing a new outfit because we are going out to a holiday lunch for work. I just want to cry and not see anyone for the whole 9 months.

Am I being overly sensitive?

I don't understand how weight is an acceptable conversation when you are pregnant. It's nobody's **** business and don't let it bother you. People are so rude.

He is a guy. He probably didn't even mean it. He probably was just joking and would have said that even if you had been puking and lost 15 lbs. I wouldn't take it too seriously, but I know pregnancy hormones make that easier said than done.

Common sense says you do Not talk negatively about a pregnant woman's weight, body, or shape even if you're joking! He probably didn't realize he was offending you but I know that doesn't make it feel any better!

I think people see stuff that isnt there when they find out you are pregnant. The people who have found out who I know are all saying oh yeah I was wondering. . . or I thought I saw a little something there. . . I am only 8 weeks 3 days just now. . . I am not showing AT ALL! I think people think it is a nice thing to say.

You girls are so sweet....he is a man and I "deep down" know he probably didn't mean to hurt my feelings....I just wanted to look at him straight in the face and call him and a**hole.

I would be upset about it too. Sadly when you're pregnant that's when you get the most comments about your weight. " Oh you're so tiny! Or You look huge!" Can't win.

He was probably just trying to be funny, he probably didn't even notice that you gained any weight. Some people just have "that kind" of humor...that isn't really appreciated when you're pregnant.

People are so stupid and insensitive sometimes, usually without meaning to be, but to us pregnant ladies and our wonderful hormones, we are extra sensitive.

Today the lady at my fave Italian restaraunt was like oh, cute, you're pregnant, how far along? When I told her 13 1/2 weeks she said, oh is it twins? I said no, then she said are you sure? If I didn't love their food so much I would have made a scene and never came back!!! But I am so excited to be pregnant I am over it now as I enjoy eating some of my leftovers from lunch

I don't worry too much anymore about comments regarding my weight. Whenever I visit my husband's family in Cuba, they always talk about how "fat" I've gotten. They think they're giving me a compliment. I've learned to just go along with it.

NO, your not being overly sensitive! And this is from a person who thinks the world is filled with way to many overly sensitive types. That comment was just plain rude! You DO NOT comment on a person's weight, unless it's to say how great they look.
