I saved up and bought a 2008 fully loaded Hyundai Entourage (mini van) with 23,000km on it for $8.000.00. I LOVVVVVVVVE it! With the two kiddos and living in the north it's so handy to open a door, we can all climb in, close the door to take off all the winter gear so the kids can sit in their carseats and no one is exposed to -40 temps!! Not to mention how much the sucker can hold.
Eventually when the kids are older I'll get something different, but for young kids (and people who do a lot of traveling), I don't know that you can beat a mini-van.
I love my Nissan Murano but have to give it up because we are having #3 and it's not rated for a third child seat. We are taking the step into a mini van. I think I'll be liking the extra room. If you're used to having lots of room, don't go smaller. It's too hard to go back
