So we all know most of us can't sleep on our back anymore right? I have been side sleeping for a long time now to be safe. I found out this moring exactly why back sleeping is a no no, scary. I woke up and peed at some point, went back to bed. Next time I woke up I heard the rushing of blood in my eas, felt a surging in my face, my head was pounding and I felt awful. I was so confused, realized a second later I was sleeping on my back for who knows how long, I rolled on my side and a minuet later the rushing, surging feeling went away. I have had a headache all day. I didn't realize how bad back sleeping can be in pregnanacy but YIKES! Apparently while asleep I have no control of the positions I get into, time to get a body pillow to prevent me from doing that in my sleep again.
Omg!!! I knew that after awhile you wouldn't want to be on your back... But right before I read this post, I thought my ears were going to explode like a fire hydrant it was pulsing so much. I feel so dumb!!! I switched to my side and it immediately went away.. All better.. But man... Yup still am embarrassed.
I miss sleeping on my back I have a pregnancy pillow that allows me to kind of half sleep on my side/back. That's doesn't seem to cause any problems because it stops me from rolling too far on my back.
Ninja Mommy I have the same sort of setup. I have pillows on both sides of me so I'm on my side, but leaning towards the back. it's nice but sometimes I get stuck in the pillows and I'm on my side leaning toward the front and the side of my little bump is squished. thank goodness for baby kicking to tell me every day that I didn't hurt her overnight!!
I still sleep on my back---(I'm bad I know)
I figure I might as well do it while I'm still able to do it comfortably. I dont' stay like that all night though--I switch from side to back.
I miss sleeping on my front..
According to this book I have.. it says you can sleep on your back as long as your in a reclining position. Like if you have a bunch of pillows propping you up. So that's what I've been doing. I literally have like 6 pillows behind me supporting my lower back and my head :-) No problems so far.
