Today is the last day of a big sale Ikea was having for Ikea Family members, discounts and vouchers for certain amounts of money spent, so we thought we would take advantage of that and get some furniture for baby.
Cot and mattress
Change table (we forgot to buy the pad on the top, whoops) and wardrobe
The wardrobe, however, we have encountered some issues. It's one of those typical Ikea ones where there are 100 different ways you can set it up, so you only buy the parts you need. They were out of shelves, so we have to go back and get them when they come in, and we accidentally bought a side-table instead of a rail. Because only at Ikea can you confuse a side-table with a rail, so we have to go and exchange it *sigh*.
One of the shelves covers the top of the drawers, and the other is just for a shelf up the top, then the rail goes in underneath, so hopefully by next weekend we will have it completely finished.
And we got $50 back in a gift voucher. WOO! I want to get this shelf they have with buckets in them for toy storage, and one of those comes in at $50, so when I get my voucher in the mail, we will pretty much get one for free, hooray! Hopefully it comes by Friday when I am going to go and exchange the thing we shouldn't have bought for the parts we are missing.
We also have:
This tshirt, baww cat
Oh and a pair of blue shorts that I don't have a photo of. Kmart had all their summer stock on sale and I got them for 50 cents. WOOHOO! They were the only pair left in 6-9 months though, which is how old baby will be in summer, the rest were all newborn sizing, which doesn't help us as she will be born in winter. Oh well, at least we got one.
Pretty much our entire house is Ikea, it's really the only furniture store in our price range, haha.
Our house too, lol. It used to be b/c of the price, but we've honestly been impressed with how well it holds up. We only get the solid wood pieces, none of the pressboard (although I had that in college and it lasted 10 years before we gave it to BIL). With kids, I don't see spending $$$ on furniture that will get used and abused. So ikea it is!
