Last night I had some bleeding (very light, very brief) when I wiped after DTD. Today, I've had quite a few 'tightenings'. I assumed they were Braxton Hicks but couldn't be 100% positive. I called the midwife at the maternity assessment unit and she suggested I go in to get checked out. They hooked me up to the monitors for what seemed like forever! They were put around my belly so tight, and I needed to pee so bad! Baby is happy and healthy. Barely stopped moving the whole time! I had one decent tightening which was pretty uncomfortable. Was praying the whole time for my uterus to calm down! And it did thank God! Lastly was a cervical check and vaginal swabs. Very unpleasant having my legs spread while 3 doctors and a midwife talked at the end of the bed. Cervix was closed and pointing down. After all that I was allowed to come home
So that was my evening at the hospital. I guess I was just surprised to be getting BH's this early. I don't remember getting them until at least 27 weeks with the others. Now I know it must be normal for me. Will put my mind at ease next time it happens

They say the BH come earlier and earlier with each pregnancy, and as I'm sure you know each pregnancy is just different. Glad to hear it wasn't a real emergency and you were able to come home, even if the checking was uncomfortable!

Good to hear baby is OK! I've had some strong BH lately, they're really annoying!

Thanks ladies I'm glad everything is okay too. They said that its quite common in pregnancy to have a little bit of blood after sex caused by irritation of the vaginal walls or cervix. I guess it's the extra blood flow down there.
