This may possibly be TMI but I just noticed my areola on the left side is puffy/swollen...I haven't done anything unusual that I would think would cause this. Normally I sleep in a bra & didn't last night but IDK that that would cause it. It doesn't hurt, I only noticed it when I got dressed & looked down & saw it looked different. The other side is completely normal, just the left one is swollen.

Anyone experience this or know what could be going on? Normally I'd think it's a normal pregnancy thing but since it's only on one side I'm a little worried..

Yikes I have no idea! It does seem like it would be a "normal" pregnancy thing. And I guess since it isn't hurting that is probably a good thing?

I googled it earlier & it definitely said it's a pregnancy symptom..I've never experienced this symptom before but I just noticed the other one looks the same now so I feel better about it. My breasts are also a lot fuller & heavier today..even DH noticed how much they've grown...so weird!

This is normal. I had one much bigger than the other with Serenity.

The montomery glands can get swollen and blocked as we progress to the 3rd trimester when some of our milks will come in.

The montgomery glands are the raised spots around the nipple. These secrete a oil which makes the nipples look shiny to lubricate the nipple and keep it moist for feeding.

Oh and a way to reduce the swelling is when your in the bath, get a wash cloth and have it quite hot and lay it on your nipple area, this can help the glands secrete more which reduces the swelling.
doodoosmom and mommamuffin like this.

Thanks Clare!

They're both puffy now, my breasts have grown significantly the past 2 days too, they almost feel like I'm getting milk already & I've had some leaking too. It's not painful at all though, so that's a relief.

I was gonna say sounds normal. One of those wonderful things about pregnancies. I know my breasts especially nipples hurt so bad this pregnancies. I don't remember them hurting so bad with my previous ones...it sucks!

One of mine is ALWAYS bigger than the other (by quite a bit, actually), but I have noticed if I go without a bra for a while they are more sensitive and swollen-ish. I've just pretty much been wearing a bra 24/7 and it seems to help.
