First off can I say whoa! Where did the time go, my ticker says this pregnancy is 70% complete! 3rd trimester
Okay! So I have completed my first sewing project for baby. A flannel rag quilt, with a border. Now, it's supposed to be gender neutral since we don't know what we're having. But I think it looks slightly more boyish. I ordered the flannel fabric from fabric.com, since the shops here don't have any of the colours or patterns I liked.

I'm also going to do a matching decorative pillowcase. Just because I have a bit of fabric left over.
Next project is the cotton quilt and cot skirt!

I love it! I had to do my crib set as well since I couldn't find anything I liked. Curtains and crib sets are some of the few things I can do on my ancient machine (base model from 1963, lol). Well, that and the fact that only about every 15th seam I sew is straight...

I'm loving fabric.com. They are a little more expensive on some things, but their selection is awesome. The free shipping on orders helps too since it gave me an excuse to order the sugar skull fabric for the kitchen curtains I've been wanting. If I ever get brave enough/get a better machine I'm definitely going to check them out for cloth diaper stuff. They have soooo many options for PUL.

That looks great! I think it will easily work for a girl, too. I like the color combinations you picked out.

That's awesome!!! I wish I could sew. It is a TINY bit boy-ish but it works for a girl too, I like the different patterns.

Way cool I think it looks great! The things I've sewn for baby definitely don't look that good!

Speaking of time, man you aren't kidding. A nurse called me today wanting to drop of some information for my third trimester - I was taken aback!

I don't think it would be. My DD father passed away last year. Her aunt, who doesn't sew at all, made a quilt like this for her out of her fathers most worn shirts and it looks great!

I'm also a beginner. So I jumped on YouTube and followed a rag quilt tutorial it was pretty easy to do, I did have to do a little bit of unpicking though
