Hoping someone here knows the ins and outs of blood drawing.
I had my 26 week blood tests on Saturday (4 days ago) and the injection site
came up as a black bruise.

Seems to be fading now but is this usually from how the blood was drawn?
She wasnt rough, she did take blood from the forearm part of the arm though, not the typical vein.

Any ideas, thinking it could be bruising easier from anemia but I dont get my results until later this week

Yep, it's normal.

I'm a big bruiser because I have deep veins.

I agree, normal. I bruise most of the time when I get my blood drawn as well, especially if they don't hit the vein right away and have to move the needle around some.

Definitely normal. I bruis most of the time, depending on the skill of the person drawing my blood.

I bruise with larger needles.... I always request smaller one.. It takes a little longer to draw blood, but no bruising.

I bruise even with the itty bitty baby needles and a fantastic nurse.

Funnily enough, if I recall correctly, the time I bruised the least was the time I was really short on cash and let a medical training facility use my arm for the people they were training to take blood tests as their first "real person test". The girl was digging around in there for ages by the time she found my vein, then she "lost it" somehow and had to go digging again. I thought my arm would be out of action for a few days, but only a little bit of bruising came from that... and $250, WOOHOO!

So maybe gentle nurses and little needles aren't the answer, HAHA.
