For the last few years, DH and I, both swear by Oregano oil when we get sick or a bacterial infection. It tastes so nasty but it does wonders.. it's a permanent staple in our "medicine cabinet"...
But it wasn't until really recently I started wondering about other oils! A friend of mine said she used lavender on her children's feet and it worked amazingly well at relaxing them and them sleeping through the night.
So I got some for myself and starting using the lavender on my feet... oh my goodness.. I have never slept so peacefully before! I get up to go pee but other than that I am getting the best night's rest since I got pregnant. I don't know how or WHY it works but, it does!

Just wondering if anyone else uses oils in their daily lives and if they have any favorites? I am starting a list of all the ones I want for breastfeeding and for newborns!

Nope but I think I'm going to go get some lavender! Do you mind sharing your list for breastfeeding and newborns? I'm definitely going to look into this!

Wow. So funny! I was just considering going to the store for some essential oils and then I saw your post! Just an fyi, be sure to look up the oils before using them while pregnant. Some are not recommended. Also, there are many resources about using essential oils for labor. I'm definitely planning to try this time, even if I can only do it at home. Oils are also good for natural fragrance, in a shower or bath, in a spray bottle for air mist, used while vaccuming or for cleaning, in beauty trratments, etc. The oils I'm looking to buy are lavender, peppermint, grApefruit, and ginger. I may pick up a few more too.

I heard peppermint was amazing for headaches! A little on the temples and forehead.
I am so excited to learn more about how to use them! I am actually going to a class tomorrow night.
I want to buy an oil diffuser too.. I wouldn't mind having one going while I am in labor

This is one of the books I have on oils during maternity:

https://www.aromatools.com/Essential...ity_p/1153.htm

It actually has a list of oils to use for common post partum problems and newborn care..

Oh! and someone told me Lime is great for swelling/edema. For a nice treat you can put 1 drop of lime essential oil in club soda for a healthy beverage.

I love coconut oil! I use it for everything! When my skin is dry I use it to take off all my make up and I oil my hair with it to help keep in moisture.

I'm using eucalypts oil today actually! It smells exactly like Vicks vapor rub and that's basically what I'm using it for.. I've mixed it with a bit of unscented lotion and I'm rubbing it on my neck and chest to hopefully get myself decongested a bit...
