I've had it done before but it wasn't until the night before my induction. I was 40 weeks and 6 days. It was uncomfortable but I imagine it would be more so if I hadn't have already been 3 cms dilated. I started losing pieces of my plug after too and was kinda crampy.

I had one 1 1/2 days before DS2 was born. It didn't hurt at all just a very small amount of pressure. I was 1- 1 1/2 cm and soft. I will have it done this time if I get to 38 1/2 weeks since DH has an overnight trip 2 days after my EDD that he has to go on. It works for some but I was told of it works it will be within 48 hours of having it done.

I get offered it at my 40wk appointment.

I figure that if I make it that long I will go for anything that will start labour, so I am going for it.

My midwife will only do it if my cervix is soft otherwise she says there is no point and it would be too painful. I am going to take her up on it if things seem ready down there as I am too impatient!

My Dr said she'll do it at 38. I will gladly take it. I am getting extremely impatient and I am seriously considering being induced at 39 weeks even though I've been completely against it this whole time. The waiting is killing me! Time has slowed!!!!!!

Last pregnancy, I had it done at exactly 38 weeks and the baby came 3 days later. It wasn't terribly painful like some women say it is.......but I was already 3 cm dilated and 50% effaced. It started alot of cramping and bloody show - and then a baby 3 days later!

I'm gong to ask for it around 38-39 weeks this time.

We'll see what my midwife says. I think I'd accept it at 38 weeks
