Well here is my problems I have been working on getting a breast pump though insurance I went out and bought a Medela PISA with my own money as the Medelas have been on back order since I delivered, I have United Health care any one have UHC been able to get a Medela? I would love a second one as I am pumping 100% of the time and would like to leave one at work and one at home and just to have a second if this one dies would be amazing. the places i have called are out and will not even do a wait list.
I'm sorry, I don't know anything about getting a pump through insurance. My friend was generous enough to give me one she had. I would just keep calling your insurance company until you get some answers.
Thank you Quantum_Leap for my fabulous signature!!!
I have United Healthcare, I called and they told me my options. It was really easy to order my pump. I got an Ameda Purely Yours. So far I've only had to pump occasionally so I haven't actually opened that one up yet... I still had my Medela from my DD so I've used that. I need to order some parts for the Ameda (I need bigger flanges than pumps come with).
yes i spent hours researching this!!! i have UHC and was able to get a medela through byram. they were super helpful over the phone. it's not as fancy as the PISA. it's just a basic double electric pump, no bag or anything. but it works as well as my PIS. i keep the PIS at work and use the insurance pump at home. that way i don't have to lug back and forth tot he office daily!
