....but I have to face the fact that I need a mommy car. Climbing in and out of the backseat of a two door vehicle to get Finn in and out of his carseat just isn't going to work for very long. I was really hoping that I could delay buying another vehicle for about a year. I mean, I haven't even hit 200,000 miles yet. I've always said I'd drive it until it hit 250k and then stick a new engine in it and keep going. Sigh. I don't wanna have to make a car payment every month.

SO hear you! Even with the car seat base, having a two door is a pain. If the roof were just a little higher..

It's a Jeep. Right now it's got 188k miles and is in okay shape. I have driven it for 12 years and love it. I won't trade it in, just keep it around for tooling around town. I commute about 50 miles a day so it racks up miles pretty quickly. I want the four door version of it. Yes, the responsible thing would be to buy what I can afford to pay cash for, but if I'm going to drive it for the next decade, I might as well get what I want ya know?

I was the same way as in NEVER wanting to own a minivan or 'family car'..lool..

OOOhh well it happens!!

But seriously, we bought a new Honda Odessey and I am glad that I caved in and got it. Its wonderful, its fullly loaded and the auto open doors on both sides and hatch is great!! you may not need a 7 seater but I agree "mommy friendly" car/ minivans are great!!!

We just bought a minivan yesterday, a 2011 odyssey. I think it's a bit much for two kids, but add in the dog, visiting family or road trips to visit family and we needed something a bit bigger. I traded in my yaris, a small 4 door sedan. That thing was awesome for my old commute (40 miles each way!), But I telework now, so didn't need to worry about gas mileage as much.

We cram in to a 2002 hyundai accent. I hate trying to fight with both the girls' carseats. I dream of the day I can own a mom car again.
