We are in the middle of a heatwave here this week, (it's been 45 degrees for a couple of days, that's 113 when converted, not expecting to have a cool change for a few more days) and last week when we went in for our 6 month check up the nurse made a suggestion of 'baby ice cream' which is mashed banana and formula blended together, then frozen.
Woke up this morning and thought I might give it a try, I don't have a proper mold for one, so I ended up using a spare bottle lid with one of Audrey's spoons in it to use as a stick, but it worked.
She was confused at first, but once she figured out how to eat it she was happy
But then it went downhill. She realised that on very hot days frozen things feel very nice when rubbed in your hair, so she just rubbed it all over her head, then threw it on the floor where it broke into lots of little sticky ice pieces, and then the cat sat in it.
So I had to wash a baby, the floor and a very grumpy, sticky cat.
Lately we've been feeding Adelyn bottled food now which we don't really have an issue with until lately. See, she absolutely LOVES the fruits and for awhile I was giving her only fruits because they were for babies just starting out on solids. Well, when we tried to do veggies and meats, she kicked up a fuss. She even went so far as to gag with every one of them and force herself to puke it up. Now I have a battle to try and get her to eat it.
So for now, I am stopping the fruits and just giving her whatever she can manage to keep down in everything else. Oh the fun! lol.
Kiam -- she is sooo cute! she is really strong and has great mobility!! I have never thought of a smoothie mixed with formula so THANKS for sharing that!! such a good idea and too cute about the mess!!!
