Audrey starts daycare in March, so she had an orientation morning yesterday morning, I think a huge, colourful room full of toys absolutely blew her mind because she had to crawl around to every single corner and touch every single toy, she crawled up to a little girl and squealed at her which made the little girl cry, so hopefully squealing in other babies faces doesn't become a habit of hers.
So she really enjoyed it, I sat in the corner and she wasn't at all interested in me, the centre director played with her one-on-one to assess her abilities and she joined in for fruit time with the other kids. She cried when we left.
Good sign I guess.
We're going again this afternoon and I'm going 'away' (well to the place down the road for coffee) for an hour to see how she goes without me sitting there.
Sounds like she's going to enjoy it. Good luck with that!
Coincidentally, today I just called the 4 daycares where I am on a waiting list. The lists are insane here in Toronto - I've been on them since March 2013 back when I was still pregnant and none of them can actually confirm whether or not there will be an available spot for Marcos when I go back to work in July. Lovely. Plus I found out that one of them, the Francophone one that was my #1 choice, will be closed the entire month of August. That means I'd have to go back to work for one month in July, then take a month vacation in August to stay at home with Marcos, then come back in September.
