That's very pretty. I'm doing a mini album with a similar shape. So, I'm using it as a template as well but it's 6x6". It's really easy to cut out. Jenni Bowlin also does a range a bit like that in different sizes which you can use as templates.
On all of those I just used one of the papers I had from the making memories noteworthy line and traced around it and then cut it out. Just make sure you turn the paper over, that way in case your pen or pencil runs over the edge, then the writing in on the back and you can still use the paper.
Maybe if you have one of those harder pieces of cardboard (I know that the scrapbook store gives them to me when I buy paper. They usually come with their bulk paper shipments), but you can cut one out of those using an exacto knife and have the template forever that way.
I have the baby one too, and still it rarely get's used. But that reminds me too that when I go to the crops at the local stores (which I know for some of you stores are really limited in your area, so it's not an option)..but most of them have some type of high end laser die cutting system that can cut the 12x12 size. I think that they usually charge like a 1.00 for each page you cut.
