Is this similar to the cookie sheet advent calendar you are making? I want to make one similar to this, I love it! What did you use for the calendar squares? Also, did you find cookie sheets on sale somewhere? TIA!

Something like that, yes!! Not exactly, but that is def. the idea!
Here is a sneak peek at my dad's (using the Dec.kit)... Loved using the non-traditional colors for his!
I'm so excited to be almost done, lol. Hopefully I will have pics of all of them by this weekend!
I have a template I used, it's a Word document. I don't know how to post it here but if you want, pm me with your email addy & I can send it as an attachment.
I got my cookie sheets at the Dollar General store, they were $3 each. They were still non-stick & dh sanded them good before painting. At the Dollar Tree they were the right (not non-stick) kind and only $1 but they didn't have the rectangle size :-( So try for the NOT non-stick, most generic kind you can find! Paint will stick with little effort.
*Oh, and get decent magnets! I started out with the rolls of magnet tape (worked ok but it's def. not the strongest & required a lot of cutting little strips to hold on the heavier embellishments). Then I got the strong button magnets- major difference & very strong! So I'm in the process of taking off the old & putting on the new ones, lol. Not hard, just wish I would've done it right the 1st time. Figured I'd spare you some trouble!
These are the ones I got at Michael's (in the 50 pk)-- http://www.michaels.com/art/online/display...oductNum=gc0460
I used my ATG gun for everything, lol. I love that the 1/4 in tape is narrow enough for little details but it's strong & permanent.
I just laid a couple rows of tape on the back of the embellishment & pressed the magnet on. Except the flowers, I put the tape directly onto the magnet then stuck it on the back of the flowers.
OT- but I love it for chipboard & mini albums too. No worries about things falling off.
I don't know if spray adhesive would be strong enough or last over time. I've only used it for stenciling on walls, etc.
I need more of the magnets (i've decided to re-do the other 4 after seeing how much better the round ones worked on my dad's & dh agrees. But Michael's is out of them & JoAnne's didn't have them so I'm off to Hobby Lobby this morning!)
I took my dad's & one of the other kind I made to a jewelry show tonight- they loved it! Asked me if they were for sale, lol! I said no way, they were gifts!
They told me to let them know after Christmas if I would take orders...
It makes me feel great knowing they like it, they turned out good... but it is work to make them & I wouldn't even know what to think of charging for them!
