Exactly how does it work with the character cartridges? I am assuming in they are cut out in several sections and you have to put them together. Is this right?

Yeap!

It's called layering. Here's a pic from the Tinker Bell cartridge which I used for a page last night

The bigger the cut out the better. I found that anything 5" and up work best with the smaller pieces that have to be added.

Some of them can be. The Hello Kitty card was pretty easy and Tinker Bell was. The more parts you have the harder it can be.

Ok, so here is a question then.

I have the Christmas Cheer cart and one of the cuts is the Santa Claus. So the whole body would be one color and then I have to cut the 'accessories' 2 times (once in black for the gloves and shoes and once in white for the beard and fur on the hat)?

Yes, it's a pain but yo do have to cut somethings twice if you want different colors.

I have found a few short cuts for the smaller cut outs ie Tinker bells lips and eyes. Those pieces were so small that there was no way I was going to get them right. So I took a small scrap peice of red and adhered it in the spot that it was suppose to go, on the back, same thing with the eyes. I used a slightly larger piece of white, then took a blue marker to make the blue. You would never know lol.

I have been having a blast making the cut outs, I have a few Little Mermaid ones to do for my nieces birthday LO's for my sister. I'll get to do a few Car ones for Sebastians birthday but that won't be until the end of March lol.

That is why I am going to wait until after I have all my Christmas wrapping done before I explore the layering!
