I just watched the DVD that came with the Cricut, and they showed that it had a USB outlet. They never said what it was for, unless Jonah got fussy and I wasn't paying attention at that part.

What is the USB outlet for?

You can use it to connect your Cricut to your computer for use with the Design Studio software

I was curious about that too...I have the cricut personal cutter one (6x12 paper) which didn't have a DVD with it but it has the USB. I still need to get a collection of cartridges before I get the Design Studio, huh? And honestly...now I'm thinking I want the Expression!

This was a bad, bad gift for my DH to buy me!

You have to make sure your computer is running XP or Vista for the software to work

Thanks ladies! I have XP on my laptop (run linux on my desktop, but it is my laptop I would be using for something like that anyway) I think it would definitely be worth having once I get some more cartridges. I SO have my eye on New Arrival and Paper Pups. I almost bought some fonts at Micheal's today, but DH was with me LOL wouldn't have been an issue except I spent $60 at Target (that is after using a $30 gift card!!!!) They were on sale for $30 and there were only three left! I've been stalking ebay, but even still they are so pricey.
