So I'm pretty new to scrapbooking, but have also come upon an interest in card making. So I have a question:

What do you use for the "base" of the card? Do you just use good, heavy cardstock (and fold it in half?), or is there something other product I'm not aware of?

You can definitely use just regular ol' cardstock! If you plan on making cards pretty regularly, you can get a pack of blank cards at pretty much any craft store! A lot of them come with envelopes too!

I just use cardstock in what ever color I need to make the card. Cut and fold it up and you have yourself a card! I love to make cards. I can't remember the last time I bough one in the store. Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

I usually just use card stock that way I can use whatever color I need, and make it whatever size I want.

I like to use SU! Cardstock for the base of my cards. Its nice and thick so the card doesn’t feel flimsy

I usually buy the pack of white blank cards and envelopes and then use colored card stock on the front as a base for my embellishments. This way brads and eyelets and such do not show on the inside of the card.
