So, I saved the stitching challenge and one other for last. I have a question about doing it since I've never done it before. Do you use regular thread or something like embroidery floss? Do you pre-poke your holes to make it easier? If you pre-poke what do you use? Then just use a needle? I don't have a sewing machine, so I will be doing this by hand. I have just about everything done except for the stitching. I'm nervous to try it!!

I do it by hand. I have used both thread & embroidery flooss. Persoanlly, I like the floss the better, it looks fuller. I pull it in half though, using 3 strands instead of 6, & then double the floss on the needle, so I still get 6 threads total (does that make sense?). I usually freehand the design on my paper with pencil, then use just a pushpin to make the holes. I erase the pencil lines, then sew away! I use a backstitch, but I don't think that part really matters. I hope that helps!!

I usually do it by hand, and also use embroidery floss since it's thicker. I don't prepoke my holes though, I just use a sharp needle.

My first attempt at stiching was fine...until I realized I messed up with the date on the piece on stiched on...but that's a whole other issue!

I used a needle and regular thread for my first time. Next time though, I will pre-poke my holes or at least mark them so my stiching is more even.

BTW- no fair cheating with rub-ons!!!!

If I did actually stitch, then I would be expected to sew up a pile of socks and such

Eh, who cares about even stitching? That's part of the charm!

Ok, so I did it, but it looks awful. I didn't pre-punch my holes or any of that. I'll try to get my pics and post them tonight. I still have to finish the sunshine challenge. Thanks for all the tips, ladies.
