I wonder about SCAL too. I started to buy Design Studio today. But I have to find out more information on both of them. Does anyone have Design Studio???

I have SCAL, and I love it. It's saved me so much money not having to buy Cricut Cartridges. I can cut any font I want, and I even use Inkscape to make my own files to cut, or to create the file from another image.

no you don't. It works just like design studio but you don't need the carts to use it.

It looks interesting. I haven't done enough investigating to see if I can use the Create or if I would need an Expression or better. I found this link on ebay that describes it.

The lowest price I found with the disk and download was just under $75 USD.

So if you create on the computer then how do you tell the cricut what to do?
